not a good day to me. I jammed my thumb trying to unlock the clamp of the wheel of a cart. All I could think about was writing my new novel. I'm up to 20,000 words. I had something else on my mind.
My left thumb is numb right now.

Yeah, but I always seem to lose those darn things. I've lost 2 game boys already and I spent a bundle of money on my XBox which became out-of-date 1 year ago.

This is one of the problems with writing - you start thinking about it when you're doing something else and then - wham! It happens to me, too.
