Has anyone gone to Scotland? Are the castles spooky? I would really like to stay on one of those castles and see how it's like.
They say that being frightened can spark new ideas....
Spooky, I mean, a bit of mystery, not haunted itself.
There are many tales about castles being haunted and all, so the question is: Are they really haunted or is this something made up just to attract visits to these castles? It surely worked on me.

I have never been to Scotland, I would absolutely love to go as it's part of my background (that's where I get my red hair from I think) and it just seems amazing.
There is something so great about being scared, the adrenalin rush, I just love it

I want to go to scotland one day. It's so green. Yeah, I like it too, the rush and all.
I stayed in a Youth hostel in Wales once, that is an old castle. I saw a ghost - honest. So did a friend of mine.
they also did haunted tours, but we didn't go on one.

And when you've finished with Scotland, do give Wales a try! A quite different style of castle, tended to be used more for war and fortification than the place to live style of Scotland. There's always a great welcome in Wales too! But then I am biased.....

I havent been to scotland but I should imagine there are aload of castles up there I have been to wales loads of times and there is a wealth of castles there too but of course there are castles in england too they are all over the place and I dont think it is all made up to bring in the tourists there has been too much happening within their walls for the building to forget them.

Hauntings eh? personally dont believe in them. Those old places are probably mainly scary on account of the cold, the abscence of natural light, I mean in a city, at least you still get that light from far off things, castles are secluded. But no, I dont think ghosts exist, makes great for advertising though doesnt it?

Castles, as with any old building, have a been witness to a wealth of experience both good and bad. Some of these experiences are recorded in the fabric of the building - and this is every building. Known as residual energy, it is this energy from which the emotive feelings of fear evolve. Hence the "spooky" feeling. Hope this helps :-)
